Joe spent most of his DJ career at KMAC\/KISS playing freeform hard rock and introducing south Texas to many great rockin&#8217; bands long before anyone else. Many of those bands Joe first played on the radio went on to international fame like Rush, Triumph and Judas Priest. Other bands Joe played like Legs Diamond, Budgie, Moxie, Killer and Riot were more well-known in San Antonio than almost anywhere else. I can recall Joe getting a new album and playing the whole LP from start to finish. Joe had a style and sense of humor that made him so beloved and popular. The loud, high energy, raw power of the hard rock and heavy metal that Joe played was infectious and a big part of my youth growing up in SA.
